LumaBooth Dashboard: Create a new event

The LumaBooth Dashboard is our new web-based platform where you can create and manage your events from any browser. All your event settings sync automatically to the LumaBooth app on iOS and Windows.

Set up your templates, overlays, backgrounds, and settings once—then simply show up. Your event will be ready on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Windows device running LumaBooth.


Getting Started

  1. Go to dash.lumabooth.com

  2. Log in using the same email and password you use in the LumaBooth app

  3. If you don’t have an account yet, create one and start your subscription


Creating an Event

Once logged in, you’ll see your dashboard with ongoing and past events.

To create a new event:

  1. Click Create New Event

  2. Choose your event experience type

Photo Session Experiences

  • Photo Booth

  • Glam Booth

  • Background Removal

  • Mirror Booth

Video Session Experiences

  • 360 / Slow-motion

  • Video Booth

You can also duplicate a previous event to reuse settings.

3. Enter your event details:

  • Event name

  • Event date

  • Event type

4. Click Create New Event to continue


Navigating Event Settings

After creating your event, you’ll see a settings menu on the left-hand side. The sections available here are tailored to the experience you selected when setting up your event, so the order and options may vary.

The sections below reflect the core settings typically used for a Photo Booth experience. Based on your selected experience, you may see:

  • Basic Settings

  • Advanced Settings

  • Print

  • Sharing


Photo Session Setup

For photo-based experiences, you’ll start in the Photo Layout section.

Photo Layout

  • Create and customize your photo template

  • Upload your own design or choose from built-in presets

  • Adjust photo placement, size, and orientation

Countdown Settings

Next, go to Countdown to control timing:

  • Countdown before the first photo

  • Countdown between photos

  • Photo review time after capture

These settings help control the pacing of each session and improve the overall guest experience.


Capture Settings

In the Capture Settings section, you can enable the session types you want to offer during your event:

  • Photo Booth

  • GIF

  • 360 / Slow-motion

  • Video

Once a session type is enabled, you’ll be able to access and configure its specific settings.

Depending on the selected session type, you can:

  • Adjust countdown and timing settings

  • Upload overlays (for video and 360 experiences)

  • Add soundtracks to recordings

  • Configure slow-motion effects

Each session type includes its own customizable options, allowing you to tailor the experience to your event.


Virtual Attendant

The Virtual Attendant section allows you to guide guests through the experience using video and audio prompts.

You can upload MP4 or MP3 files for different stages of the session, including:

  • Start screen

  • Before countdown

  • After countdown

  • During processing

  • After processing

This helps create a more interactive and user-friendly experience by providing clear instructions and engaging prompts throughout the session.


Advanced Settings

Welcome Screen

The Welcome Screen lets you fully customize how your booth appears before a session begins.

  1. Select Device

    • Choose the device you are editing for

    • Select portrait or landscape orientation

    This ensures your design fits the exact dimensions of your booth device.

  2. Choose a Theme

    • Apply a background image from available preset themes

  3. Add Text

    • Add and customize text on the welcome screen

  4. Upload Custom Background

    • Use your own images for a fully personalized design

  5. Add Start Screen Video

    • Upload an MP4 video to play on the welcome screen

  6. Edit Background Settings

    • Select background color

    • Choose between Fit Within Window or Fill With Cropping

    • Enable Camera Live Preview to display the camera feed as the background

These options allow you to create a branded and engaging welcome screen that matches your event style and device setup.


Filters & Effects

In the Filters & Effects section, you can enhance your photo and video sessions with creative visual options.

  1. Beauty Filter

    • Enable the beauty filter

    • Adjust the strength to your preference

  2. Color Filters

    • Choose from built-in filters

    • Set them to cycle automatically or allow guest selection

These features let you apply a consistent look or create an interactive experience where guests can personalize their captures.


Background Removal

The Background Removal section allows you to remove or replace photo backgrounds.

  • Enable AI Background Removal or Green Screen

  • Adjust smoothness and sensitivity for best results

  • Choose to cycle backgrounds automatically or let guests choose

  • Upload background images (JPEG or PNG)

  • Optionally, add an overlay (PNG) for additional effects

This feature helps create polished, professional-looking images with custom or branded backgrounds.


AI Portraits

The AI Portraits feature is a new and exciting way to offer guests creative, AI-generated images based on their photo. It adds a premium, interactive element to your booth experience by allowing guests to transform their images into a variety of artistic styles.

  1. Enable AI Portraits

    • Start building presets for your event

    • Once enabled, additional configuration options will become available

  2. Choose Portrait and Art Styles

    • Select from over 170 presets

    • Add a portrait style (e.g., Movies & TVS, Superheroes & Comics, Fantasy & Adventure, Historical Eras & Cultures)

    • Add an art style (e.g., Classic Masters, Pop Culture, Comics)

    • You can apply a portrait style, an art style, or combine both for more unique results

  3. Test Images

    • Upload a test image to generate previews and fine-tune your selected styles

    • This helps ensure consistent and high-quality results before your event

  4. Create Multiple Presets

    • Build many variations using different portrait and art styles

    • Save presets for guests to choose from during the session

    • Offering multiple options encourages interaction and repeat use

  5. Customize Guest Text

    • Edit the text that guests see when applying AI Portraits

    • Example: “Choose your style” or “Create an AI Portrait” button

  6. Processing & Output

    • After capture, the AI processes the image and applies the selected style

    • Processing time may vary depending on the selected style and internet speed

    • Final images can be shared alongside the original photo (depending on your sharing settings)

This feature provides a unique, interactive experience where guests can explore multiple artistic styles and create memorable AI-generated portraits. It’s an excellent way to elevate your event and offer something beyond traditional photo booth captures.


Survey & Disclaimer

You can enable Survey and Disclaimer to collect information and manage guest consent.

Survey

  • Enable the survey feature

  • Add question(s)

  • Choose answer types (e.g., text, multiple choice)

Disclaimer

  • Enable a disclaimer before sessions begin

  • If a guest does not agree, their session is canceled and any captured photos are deleted

This ensures compliance while allowing you to collect useful information.


Print & Sharing

Sharing Settings

Enable multiple sharing options for guests:

  • Email

  • SMS

  • WhatsApp

Sharing Screen Settings

Customize how the sharing screen behaves:

  • Set a timeout duration

  • Enable a button to show original photos

  • Display a delete button for guests

Other Sharing Options

  • Enable Cloud Sharing for automatic uploads

  • Upload original photos

  • Enable QR Code Sharing

  • Enable AirDrop (iOS only)

These options provide flexible ways for guests to receive and manage their content.


Online Gallery Settings

The Online Gallery is your event album link that can be shared with guests.

Privacy Settings

  • Enable Link Sharing
    Anyone with the link can view the gallery

  • Enable Guest Access
    Guests can view each other’s photos and videos

  • Enable Download All
    Allows full gallery downloads

  • Enable Password
    Add password protection (leave blank to disable)


Syncing to Your Device

All changes made in the dashboard sync automatically to your LumaBooth app. Simply log in on your device and select your event—everything will be ready to go.
