Printer Alignment

Updated over 2 weeks ago

In some cases, your print might not be perfectly centered on the paper. This can be caused by a misaligned print head or paper.

To work around this issue, you can tweak the printer's print alignment, which will shift the printed image a few pixels in any direction you wish and allow you to scale it as well to get a perfectly positioned print.

Scaling recommendations often suggest starting at 98%, which usually provides accurate dimensions without overshooting the paper's printable area. Additionally, reconfiguring settings may be necessary when switching USB ports or operating systems, as these changes can reset printer configurations, including alignment settings. Revisiting scale and alignment settings for different types of media or events also ensures consistent output.

To do this, go to Settings > Print Setup > Printer Alignment.

Click on Print Test Page to get a baseline.

Follow the instructions on the printed test page to tweak scale and position till you are satisfied with the print.

Small, incremental adjustments to the vertical and horizontal alignment settings can have a cumulative impact on achieving precise positioning. Experiment with modest changes and use the test page to confirm improvements before making further tweaks.
