Printers do not support printing 2x6 strips directly so you'll need to configure dslrBooth to properly print either single or double 2x6 strips.
Afterwards, you can cut the 4x6 into two 2x6 either manually or if your printer supports it, have the printer cut it for you.
Windows
Step 1
Option 1
Go to Print Layout, change Paper Size to 2 x 6.
Check the setting for Print 2 per page if printing double strips.
To print a single strip, ensure the "Print 2 per page" option is disabled and confirm your printer can handle single 2x6 prints.
Now dslrBooth will duplicate your 2x6 template to create a 4x6 print for double strips or retain the single 2x6 layout.
This is a good option if you wish to share individual 2x6 strips on social media but wish to print two 2x6 strips on your printer. It'll also present print number options in multiples of 2.
For single strip printing, ensure the "Print 2" option is not enabled and verify printer driver compatibility with single 2x6 sizes.
Option 2
Go to Print Layout, choose Four Poses, Double Strip template or create one using Paper Size of 4 x 6 and Vertical Orientation
Manually duplicate your template on the left and the right.
This option is useful if you want additional control over the placement of all graphics or if you want different left and right side strips.
Option 3
Design the Layout: In dslrBooth, create the photo layout as a 2x6 format.
Disable the Print 2 Option: In the Print Layout settings, ensure the "Print 2" option is NOT selected.
Update the Print Setup: Configure your Windows printer driver to support a single 2x6 paper size.
Step 2
If you have a professional dye sub printer that supports cutting, go to Settings, Print Setup, Configure Printer, Preferences, Advanced, and turn on the 2x6 cutting option for your specific printer. Below are what those settings look like for the DNP DS40. Your printer settings will vary depending on the printer you are using.
Ensure your printer driver supports the specified paper size configuration for accurate results; otherwise, single 2x6 printing may not be possible.
Note: When using Mitsubishi printers, select 5x15x2 Type1 to allow for 2 photo strips with cutting.
If your prints are coming out rotated by 90 degrees, see this article.
