LumaBooth for Android prints to network photo printers over WiFi using IPP (Internet Printing Protocol). Both ipp:// and encrypted ipps:// connections are supported.
Quick Setup
Connect your printer to the same WiFi network as your Android device. Do not use a shared or venue WiFi network, as these usually block devices from communicating with each other.
In LumaBooth, go to Settings, Print Setup, then tap Select printer to discover available printers.
Choose your printer from the list.
Tap Print test page to verify the connection.
Supported Printers
Any network printer that accepts JPEG, PDF, Apple Raster (AirPrint-compatible), or PWG Raster over IPP works with LumaBooth.
Dye-sub photo printers from DNP, HiTi, and Mitsubishi connect over USB and cannot join the network on their own. To print to one, use either:
LumaBooth Assistant: run this app on a Windows or Mac computer connected to the printer, and it acts as a print server on your network.
DNP WCM Plus: a device from DNP that connects to your DNP printer over USB and makes it available on the network as an AirPrint printer.
Print Options
Print 2 per page: Print two copies of a single 2x6 strip on 4x6 paper, perfect for classic photo booth strips.
Troubleshooting
Printer not found?
Verify the printer and the Android device are on the same WiFi network.
The network must allow multicast/mDNS traffic, which is used for automatic printer discovery. Some enterprise or guest networks block it. Check with the network administrator.
Restart the printer.
Try restarting LumaBooth.
Print job fails?
Ensure the printer has paper and ribbon/ink.
Check the printer's display for errors.
Verify the WiFi connection is stable.
