SMS sharing

dslrBooth allows your guests to send their photos directly to their mobile phones using an SMS (text) message.

You'll need to setup an account with Twilio, an SMS provider to handle sending out the SMS messages. Refer to the video below for more information. You'll need 3 pieces of information from twilio, your purchased phone number, Account SID and Auth Token.

Make sure your SMS Number in dslrBooth is registered with twilio. You can check that under: Programmable SMS > Phone Numbers . The purchased # must have SMS capbabilities.

This instructional video outlines how this feature can be configured.

1. Go to twilio.com and click Sign Up.

2. Click on Dashboard.

3. Click on the three dots icon on the left hand side. Choose Phone Numbers under Super Network.

4. Click Get Your First Number. This will give you a unique phone number. Click Choose This Number. This will bring you to the Phone Numbers page.

5. Click on the Home button in the left hand corner (Console Dashboard)

Your Account SID and Auth Token will be listed here.

Click Billing on the left hand side to upgrade to the full account to be able to use SMS.

Is there a way to share a photo to SMS without sharing all of the photos from that session?  That is, we just want to send over the photo that was just taken.

    Hi @Kishore Khan

in order to share individual shots, make sure you have "Print' selected un the general tab of settings. When it's time to share the session, you select the individual photo you want to share and you can print/email/text that one particular photo. I hope that was clear enough to understand. :-)

Jud, you'll need to set your album as Private in fotoShare Cloud. Please see this information about privacy settings.

Why do i need a  twilio account when my ipad already has a mobile sim in that can send sms messages. It makes no sense.

Robert, third party apps such as LumaBooth are not allowed by iOS to directly send SMS messages using the mobile SIM card which is why we have to use a third party service to send the messages.

Do you support other platforms like ClickSend? SMS from Twillo doesn't work in New Zealand sadly

I was able to use SMS with Lumabooth without a Twillio account but need a Twillio account to use DSLRBooth.

Why a difference in the two software packages?
