Troubleshooting LumaShare Connection Issues

Updated this week

If LumaShare is not connecting to your booth app or is not downloading the latest images, try the following:

Before You Begin

Network Setup

  • Same Network: Before you start LumaShare on the iPad, make sure that dslrBooth is running and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as LumaShare.

  • Wi-Fi Restrictions

    • Some venues and public Wi-Fi block device-to-device communication. Use your own hotspot or wireless access point instead.

    • If using a hotspot, verify it is configured to allow access across devices

  • Router Settings

    • Disable features like Wireless Isolation, AP Isolation, Station Isolation, or Client Isolation, as these will block LumaShare from accessing photos

    • If your access point has two networks (2.4G and 5G), connect both the iPad and the booth computer to the same band.

  • iPhone/iPad Hotspot

    • Turn OFF Private Wi-Fi Address under iOS Settings → Wi-Fi → Network Name.

App Configuration

  • dslrBooth:

    • Confirm that dslrBooth is running before starting LumaShare on the iPad.

    • Go to Settings → Sharing Settings and ensure Enhanced Sharing is checked. This acts as a backup to download photos from fotoShare Cloud.

    • Some 3rd party firewall software might be blocking dslrBooth from sending the photos to fotoShare so disable your firewall software such as Norton or McAfee if you're having issues.

  • LumaShare:

    • Go to Settings → Account and verify that your fotoShare Cloud account is the same as you are using on your booth app.
