Printing to DNP Printers Using WCM Plus with LumaBooth

The DNP WCM Plus is a device that transforms your DNP printer into an AirPrint-compatible printer, enabling seamless wireless printing from iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones. This functionality is particularly beneficial for photo booth applications like LumaBooth, facilitating efficient and cable-free printing.

To set up LumaBooth for printing to DNP printers using the WCM Plus, follow these steps:


1. Connect the WCM Plus to Your DNP Printer

  • Ensure your DNP printer is powered on and properly loaded with media.
  • Use the provided USB cable to connect the WCM Plus to your DNP printer.

2. Power On the WCM Plus

  • Connect the WCM Plus to a power source.
  • Once the WCM Plus boots up, it will print a test page containing:
    • The Wi-Fi network name (SSID): WCMPlus-xxx.
    • The default password (typically dnp12345).

3. Connect Your iPad to the WCM Plus Network

  • On your iPad, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi. Locate the WCM Plus Wi-Fi network (WCMPlus-xxx) and connect using the password provided on the test print.
  • Alternatively, you can connect your iPad/iPhone to the WCMPlus using an ethernet adapter and ethernet cable.

4. Configure the WCM Plus Settings

  • Open a web browser on your iPad and go to http://192.168.4.1 to access the WCM Plus configuration page. Default settings are: Username: dnpwcm. Password: password
  • Under Printers > Printer > Printer Settings, configure the paper size: 4x6 or 2x6 x2.
  • If desired, connect the WCM Plus to an external Wi-Fi network to allow simultaneous printing and internet access. This enables features like real-time sharing of photos. Connect to a Wi-Fi network under Wi-Fi Configuration or connect the WCM Plus using an ethernet cable to your router.

5. Set Up Printing in LumaBooth

  • Open the LumaBooth app on your iPad.
  • Navigate to Settings > Printing.
  • Select AirPrint as the print method.
  • Tap Configure Printer and choose your DNP printer from the list of available AirPrint printers. Each paper size will show up as a separate printer to make sure to select the correct paper size.

6. Test the Printer Connection

  • Within LumaBooth's printing settings, tap Print Test Image to verify the connection and confirm that the printer is functioning correctly.

Additional Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure that both your iPad and the WCM Plus are connected to the same network.
  • If you encounter issues, consult the WCM Plus user manual or visit the DNP support page for troubleshooting guidance.

By following these steps, you can integrate LumaBooth with your DNP printer using the WCM Plus, enabling reliable wireless printing for your photo booth setup.
