Hashtagged Photos Not Showing

If you find that hashPrinter is not showing your hashtagged photos on instagram, make sure that any photos and the user profiles that upload them are set to be public. See this post on instagram's website for more information.

After hashprinter has displayed the first set of photos, only newly uploaded photos that are added to instagram will be downloaded and displayed by hashPrinter. It is not possible to force an old photo to display by adding a hashtag to it.

Make sure your computer is not set to go to sleep or standby. This will stop HashPrinter from updating photos after the computer comes back on.

Lastly, make sure you have a solid internet connection throughout your event so photos can be downloaded from the internet.

Instagram/Facebook Limitations

The following are limitations imposed by Facebook (Instagram's owner):

  • Only photos from the last 24 hours will show.
  • Only the first photo of a Collage (multi-photos) post will show.
  • Only the first frame of a Video post will show.
  • A maximum of 50 photos can be retrieved every 20 seconds.
  • You can query a maximum of 30 unique hashtags on behalf of an Instagram Business User within a rolling, 7 day period. Once you query a hashtag, it will count against this limit for 7 days. Subsequent queries on the same hashtag within this time frame will not count against your limit, and will not reset its initial query 7 day timer.
  • Hashtags on Stories are not supported.
  • Unicode characters are not supported.
