Display your photos and videos from LumaShare on a TV using Google Chromecast. This guide covers how to connect your Android device to a Chromecast and configure your slideshow settings.
Requirements
App Version: LumaShare for Android v1.0.0 or later
Subscription: Active LumaShare subscription
Device: Android phone or tablet running LumaShare
Network: Google Chromecast device on the same Wi-Fi network
Compatible Display Devices
LumaShare for Android supports casting to Google Chromecast devices only:
Google Chromecast: Any generation
Chromecast with Google TV: All models
Android TV: With built-in Chromecast
Smart TVs: With Google Chromecast built-in
Connecting to Chromecast
Ensure your Android device and Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Do not use venue's WiFi as it'll block access.
Open LumaShare and navigate to the event you want to display
Tap the Cast icon in the app
A list of available Chromecast devices will appear
Select your Chromecast device from the list
Once connected, the slideshow will automatically begin playing on your TV
The Chromecast devices list will show an indication that you are connected to a device. Your photos and videos will display on the TV in sequence.
Slideshow Settings
Customize your slideshow experience by going to Settings → Slideshow Settings
Photo Review Time
Control how long each photo displays before advancing to the next.
Range: 1–15 seconds
Default: 5 seconds
Limit to Last Sessions
Filter the slideshow to show only recent content.
Set a number to display only the most recent recording sessions
Leave empty to show all content from the event
TV Orientation
Choose the display orientation for your TV.
Landscape: Standard horizontal display (default)
Portrait: Vertical display for TVs mounted in portrait orientation
Path: Settings → Slideshow Settings → TV Orientation
Overlay Image (Watermark)
Add a logo or watermark to all slideshow content.
Go to Settings → Slideshow Settings
Tap Overlay Image to select an image from your device
Enable the overlay toggle to apply it to all media
The overlay will appear on all photos and videos during the slideshow
Stopping the Slideshow
To disconnect from Chromecast and stop the slideshow:
Tap the Cast icon in LumaShare
Select Disconnect from the dialog
The slideshow will stop and your TV will return to its normal display
Tip: You can also stop casting from the device notification shade or by turning off the Chromecast device.
